A two-day photography workshop focusing on light, working with your camera, lenses, and mindfulness while shooting, plus 4 hrs online group meetin.
Day 1: Mastering the Fundamentals
May 12 - 10 am to 4 pm
Introduction to the workshop and light theory: You'll learn about the different qualities of light (natural vs. artificial, hard vs. soft light), how light affects your exposure, and how to use light to create mood and atmosphere in your photos.
Camera controls workshop: This session will delve into the core functions of your camera, focusing on aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and white balance. You'll practise using these settings in various lighting conditions to achieve your desired results.
Lens exploration: Different lenses offer unique perspectives and effects. You'll experiment with prime and zoom lenses, understanding their strengths and how they influence your composition.
Practical shooting session 1: Put your newfound knowledge into practice! Under the guidance of your instructor, you'll embark on a photo walk, applying camera settings and lens choices to capture various subjects throughout the day.
Day 2: Capturing the Present Moment
May 19 10 am to 4 pm
The art of being present: This session will explore the concept of mindfulness in photography. You'll learn how to slow down, be present in the moment, and see the world with fresh eyes.
Composition techniques: You'll learn about the basic rules of composition, such as the rule of thirds, leading lines, and negative space. You'll practise applying these techniques to your photos.
ONLINE CLASS
May 15 and May 22 at 7 pm
Group critique: Share your photos from Day 1 and Day 2 with your fellow participants and the instructor. This is a valuable opportunity to receive constructive feedback and learn from each other's work.
