Minimalist Filmmaking – Online Workshop
From Dream to Screen: Turn Your Story into a Short Film
We are thrilled to announce the upcoming online filmmaking workshop with Professor Soudabeh Moradian, acclaimed filmmaker, writer, and university lecturer and we’d love for you to join us!
This workshop is designed for participants who wish to bring their personal stories to life through the lens of minimalist filmmaking. Working with simple tools like a smartphone or basic camera, you’ll learn how to craft powerful visual narratives rooted in memory, dream, and identity.
Soudabeh Moradian is a filmmaker with over 70 works to her name, and her films have screened at prestigious international festivals. She currently teaches film at a leading art university in New York and brings a rare combination of academic insight and hands-on professional experience to this course.
Through five interactive sessions, you’ll explore:
Hybrid and personal forms of storytelling
Visual language and cinematic expression
Shot design and location-based shooting
Collecting image and sound with intention
Editing for rhythm, emotion, and meaning
The workshop will conclude with a screening and group critique of participants’ completed short films.
Whether you’re continuing from the “Dream to Screen” screenwriting course or stepping into filmmaking for the first time, this workshop invites you to create something meaningful, personal, and cinematic — with just what you have in hand.
